  • Abstract.

    We define Szasz-Durrmeyer type operators by assuming a continuously differentiable function ξ(y) on [0, ∞) such that ξ(0) = 0 and inf ξ (y) ≥ 1, y ∈ R. Then, we set up few crucial auxiliary results for our newly generalized operators. Moreover, we discuss the quantitative Voronovskaja and Gruss Voronovskaja type theorems and, for the functions with derivatives of bounded variation, the rate of convergence associated to our operators is established.
